Just wondering....Is this really necessary? For instance the user manual doesn't mention this under battery replacement.
    Pg 139:
    https://www.volvoclub.org.uk/webmanu..._EN_tp6726.pdf
It says so in Autodata and that, afaik, over rules the user manual.

The rear bushes are a bitch to fit, and will cost around £400 in labour alone. Some need to be pressed out using a hydraulic press. However, they are well worth it and after a full alignment, the car will have that 'New car' feeling when everything is tight and under control.
PowerFlexing your bushes are a good way to 'future proof' and guarantee longevity and constant control with no fatigue or wearing out of the bushes.

Obviously a Full alignment is necessary.
    Hi Lee,
    Which one you ordered the 'S60 AWD (2001-2009)' or 'S60 (2001-2009), V70-MK2, S80-MK1 (2000-2007)' series?
Fronts seems to be the same, however few differences when looking at the rears.

I went off the S60 AWD.
TBH it doesn't matter. The fronts are identical and for the rear, go off the AWD version.

    New front springs...

Had a minor set back at the weekend.
Went to use the car Saturday and found it making a horrendous noise after only moving 2ft!

    F/O/S spring broke!

First things first, jack up car and remove wheel. Luckily I wasn't driving when this happened because the sharp bit in the photo was pressing hard against the tyre sidewall. It isn't uncommon for a spring to puncture a tyre when they fail at the roadside, something I see all the time.
As I'd only moved the car a couple of feet there wasn't any damage, just some very minor scratches on the rubber shoulder.
I then, with the help of an AA Patrol colleague, managed to rotate the spring enough so the sharp bit was tucked behind the shock. I then added 3 large 1" thick transport blocks to the shock, clamping them around the exposed metal piston part of the shock. These prevent the car, when lowered back down, collapsing on the broken spring.
I then fitted the space saver as this gives loads of clearance from the broken spring, which as you can see has come off the spring seat base.

Space saver on, I was then able to gingerly drive the car (slowly) to my local Dealer for them to fix during the week.

Wednesday afternoon I collected the car and all is well.

    New springs fitted.

    Parts fitted:

    30639016 Front spring x 2
    30683637 Spring seat x 2
    30760914 Helper spring x 1 (bump stop)
    30666850 Protecting bellows x 1
    SUM Calibration x 1

    154k service...

    Item's shown here...

    Included:-

Genuine Multifilter (For cars with AQS)
    Genuine Oil Filter
    5W40 Fully synthetic
    Wynns engine flush
    Gold Plug Magnetic - (http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-83810-go...etc-ap-05.aspx)
    Genuine spark plugs
Airfilter removed an cleaned (last time - to be replaced on next service)
    MAF sensor removed and cleaned
OTE pipe removed and cleaned and 'O' ring inspected
    Exhaust manifold heat shield.

Due to my weeping driveshaft seal, this was the state of my alloy under tray...

While the oil was draining I gave it a degrease using Meguires engine degreaser and a scrub with a hard plastic brush....

Once VIDA was plugged in, to reset the SRI, I discovered that my drivers mirror had a fault (code was logged). So I checked the motor which worked fine, then I switched on the heating element and checked with my thermoprobe. The temp did not rise, unlike the passenger side which went up rapidly to around 38*C.
So I know need to order a new mirror glass.

I also fitted a new exhaust manifold heat shield as the lower bolt hole had rotted on mine.

Nice work, how did you find the degreaser, did it cut through with ease or was a fair bit of elbow grease required also?

That under tray is pretty sharp too, is that the old one?

Mirrors on my one were foggy too, so I went ahead and replaced both in last Dec. ∼ €60 from the dealer with my discount.

Degreaser is easy to use, no elbow grease required, especially if using a jet washer.

R models do not come with an undertray due to heat issues (so the dealer say). Well this is a genuine Volvo tray and has all the air ducting. Plus I have a larger Engine oil cooler than stock, so absolutely no issues with cooling or overheating for that matter.

Lousy auto correct caught me, I meant to ask if it was an ipd tray not old lol.

That being said, it's pretty nice compared to my slightly knackered one. Dare I even ask how much the dealers want for such a pretty thing?

Fwiw t5 Pete I'm also running the same oil and I can't fault it for the price.

It's a Volvo one. Here's the part no. Not going to be cheap.

I paid £128.36 back in 2010 for mine.

Bear in mind this is about 4mm thick sheet alloy and is not flexible! It's very strong. You should see all the scuff marks on mine from the debri damage over the years

I'd not drive the car without it TBH as it feels very vunerable without.

That sounds like good value after being quoted £90 for two boot struts lol.

I assume this fits a D5 s60? I think they use the same front subframes etc? It wouldn't make too much sense to have lots of variability across the production line.
