A quick look through the T&Cs says that you need to call them out to repair the fault first, as opposed to getting the work done & send them a bill, which is fair enough. I can't see any limits on age of the vehicle or even mileage

Pretty much like a warranty with recovery cover on top for 120 quid a year then..!

For some months now, the car had been 'surging' when giving it the beans in damp, wet, icy conditions. Something I'd never experienced before in the 5 years of ownership. I just put it down to the crap road conditions. Alas, it would appear that it may have been, after all, the AOC Haldex pump starting to fail. Being an electric pump, it must have been slowing down or producing less pressure, much in the same way an electric fuel pump can partially seize up. This surging went on (only when pushed) for several months until it finally stopped working.

Those symptoms have now completely gone. Pushed her hard the other day from a junction in the lashing down rain and it pulled hard, smooth and did not falter whatsoever in the "tyres letting go" department! No torque steer at the front, no DSTC light flashing. It just felt "planted", "sure footed" and within seconds, my 100% confidence was back along with my beaming smile!

One to watch out for lads!
I got our Indie to change the Haldex oil and filter last year, not something they'd heard of before. When I picked it up, they said "I can see why you didn't do it yourself" lol.

    Kind of.

Rules are, AA must attend job first regardless of whether or not the car can be repaired at the roadside. In the case of my AOC pump failure, the attending patrol had a cuppa T and filled out the paperwork for me because he was never going to repair the fault with Dealer level software and Dealer supplied parts.
Then it's down to the BRC department to decide if the parts are covered etc.

(summer) Dunlop Sport MAXX RT 235/40ZR18 XL
(Winter) Vredestein Wintrac Extreme 235/40ZR18 XL.

Both sets of wheels are Pegasus and both refurbed and Carrs Anthracite (summers) and Anthracite OE (Winters). Carrs Anthracite is slightly darker and glossier than OE anthracite.

It was that mine came with 18" Hankook's, not a brand I was familiar with and instantly thought they would be coming off soon (even though they are like new). But they have really surprised me, grip well in the wet, road noise decent so will be keeping them until a wear change is required.

    Evo or Evo2?

There is a big difference in performance between the two.

That would be the good one! In fact, it's Hankook's flagship tyre. Top premium performance tyre K120. The K117 (evo) is the last generation and not as good.
