Well I've just been out in the car and the air con and recirc lights had a flashing fit any ideas?
It all seems to be working just the lights flashed for about 15 seconds. Fix one thing and something else bloody breaks

Sod it, it'll fix itself or I'll just ignore it, and it might go away.
Thanks for the info
It spent 4 years in a garage.
Usually means that its low on gas. But its a general warning that there is an issue with the a/c.

Its means you need to sell me the car lol its the system showing that there is a fault most likely that the gas has droped below a certain level
Re-gas it is then, thanks for the info peeps. T5pete I'm getting an inkling you might want to buy my car, but I may be wrong. Lol
Lol. Not for sale. Unless a tvr Griffith 5.0 comes up cheap.

There are 2 cabin sensors on the 850 and they're in the roof next to the passenger and driver grab handles.
The system goes through a self check every time the ignition is cycled and if there is a fault the two lights flash together for 15 seconds. If the fault is constant then they will flash like this every time you start up but if it doesn't do it next time you start then it may have just been a 1 off or an intermittently faulty sensor or motor. Of all the 47 fault codes the system can store none are for low a/c gas pressure and in the past when mines been low enough on gas for the system to either not perform at all or perform erratically not once have my lights flashed. Faults the system can store range from no signal from engine coolant temperature sensor through to heater ecu fault.
This is bound to mean mine will never work again, but in the R my aircopn continues to work just fine. I have had the local mobile aircon service people come out twice. Once to fix the aircon clutch (well, re-shim it - stops it clicking in and out every few seconds) and also to replace the condenser thing below the OS headlight. I've had a couple of 850 with good air conditioning - and a lot of fuss is made about how unreliable it is in 850s. Get a good engineer on the case and it should work just fine. The flashing light is a sign that it needs a re-gas. Take my advice, don't try to save £20 by going to KwikFit, get a proper aircon specialist to check it out. The system should be purged and then refilled at the very least. Minor leaks can be fixed by additives, so don't despair.
