I think you'll struggle to get over 500bhp with 7k.

You could do it, it just wouldn't last very long!!

There are a handful of people (on T5D5) that have successfully achieved a reliable 400-450bhp, even with lot a track use. There's a pretty tried and tested method for achieving that kind of figure now, and £7k would be pushing your luck, being realistic, and that's excluding upgrading the rest of the car, i.e. suspension, brakes, lsd, etc... The trouble is if you genuinely hit 5-600bhp, which would be quite achievable with a big enough turbo, you're A) Going to have built a seriously unreliable machine and B) would probably be slower in the real world than the same car with 450bhp!

But the expensive hardware stuff is done now. The rest should now be trying to get more power while keeping temps/det under control.

Why does he need a stand alone ECU? He just needs to go somewhere that can remap and set the car up properly. He's 90% there from what I can tell. Isn't Daves goal 400bhp? With that turbo he shouldn't have to run super high boost. 400bhp from a GT30(??) should be easily achievable, even keeping sensible boost, thus keeping temps down and being ultra reliable.

Thats not too bad including mapping. Think its something people should do, when going for big power (500bhp+) as you can do so much more with them.

    For what reason Dave?

From what I've read, you have all the right components, it just needs setting up by someone who knows what they are doing! (no offense intended, I know you've done a lot of the work yourself, which is highly commendable)

Just thinking that starting with a larger capacity engine would help.
