    Strange noise?

    Hi.
On my v70 1998 I just noticed when you go in roundabouts and speed up the is a slightly noise.
It's only to the left and when speeding up.
Can't say it's grinding but would be the best decribtion.
First I thought it maybe the exhaust vibriting on the classy somewhere, but not sure as it seems it comes from the front.
Anyone had this before or maybe an idea what it cold be to illuminate where to look for first?
    Thanks

It's not happened when speeiding up on a straight or right turn. Just left.
I know it make this clunking noise at the front when IMO over speed bumps and potholes and I know what to replace but this noise is different.
Thought maybe wheel bearing but this would acute left AND right if so.?

If it's clunking over bumps, consider drop links, ball joints and strut top mounts.

Yes that's what the bugga is doing anyway.
But there is this new noise. Just like grinding in left corners and only when I speed up.
Not by braking or slowing down.

But, shouldn't be the noise on wheel bearing when you go in any corner?
Left or right should make grinding noise, not just left turns?

Ok I'll check this out then.
Removed the tyres yesterday just to find out one is bold to the metal on the inside.
Was strange when I went on motorways before so I checked it out.
But is e front right one, guess ill check both sides just in case.
Well , the tyres on for nearly 6k now and they wasn't new anyway.
Unless it has some to do with them struts, which making the noise over speedhumps.?

    Yes it is auto.
Been at my local garage and - thanks god - it's not wheel bearing.
The bloody thing is only available as a hub for this Modell.
100-150 quit if I am lucky.
    It's the driveshaft.
The guy before must driven around for a long time enforce changing a split gaitor.
Well, nothing which falls off so before mot it will be done.
Is only the outer joint. Should get one cheap.

I also be told in theory I do not need them drop links, struts or whatever they called.
Them long bars down, it is only to stiffen the car while going around bends?
If the only mot thing I remove them so the clunk stops.
Otherwise I need a bloody wishbone and this gets done next month, after holiday.

All good then - I hope.

Is there repair kits for them wishbone bottom ballpoints around or do I need to get the whole thing?
Tyre front right was complete bold on the inside. Oops. Got second hand one on it today so at least is legal. Lol
But still needs to be done.

Erh. Yes the question, I ave the car since oct 12. Done 11 k since, and is now on 171 k.

    Well, best quote so far
    Wishbone front right
    Driveshaft joint end left side
    Link bars left and right
    94 incl VAT

    Guess that's not so bad.
