No worries Jamesy, I keep forgetting to look in here too, you're out of the way mate in here! (Probably for the best )

So you got the T-5R now too then? They're the only Volvos you've got left now I take it? Can't bloody keep track!

I've got to say I'm feeling the love for the S70 again, after dabbling in much more expensive cars & having much less fun.

About time I did a one-year update on my to do list...

*Airbox is loose as one of the rubber mountings is broken.
    Fixed

*Front two tyres are awful, possibly losing air due to corroded rims - making the steering heavy.
Rainsport 2's in the bin, now rolling with Avons

*Puffs of steam/smoke from dipstick - clean/replace the PCV unit.
    Replaced

*Passenger side window is a little lazy to close.
    WD40!

*Drivers side switch bank in poor condition. Whoever owned it last must have used something on their hands that didn't agree with the rubber on the switches. She was a doctor and had the car since 2001! "How is your prostate sir?" [note to self: stop biting your nails]
Got a new switch bank from Darth Vol in Ireland, still waiting to be fitted

*Brake discs may be very slightly warped as there is a bit of vibration with heavy use. They are very effective though so won't be rushing to do that one.
No change there, got some replacements from Biff ready to go on if needed

*Alloys are in poor condition as mentioned above.
Left them as is but got some summer wheels

*Rear bumper has a crack in it.
Still cracked. Cheaper than reversing sensors.

*All serviced including new cam belt but auto fluid needs changing.
ATF changed! & belt changed again during head swap

Other stuff done I've mentioned in the thread like the Tim Williams fettled cylinder head, cams from NA car, blue injectors, fancy aux/card reader input mod

Where to this year..? A proper stage zero would be a good start

My list for stage zero, stolen from S60R thread...a shorter list on a P80 car! Any omissions please shout up

    *4-wheel alignment
    *PCV vacuum check/replace (done)
*Check & replace spark plugs (done)
    *Dizzy cap, coil & leads
*Air, fuel and oil filter service (air & oil done)
*Trans fluid flush (done, will get done again)
*Inspect & replace vacuum lines and IC piping rubber (done, reducer on compressor outlet to replace)
    *Replace TCV
*Test / replace 02 sensors (done - checked within range)
*Verify proper fuel flow using a fuel pressure tester and replace fuel pumps if needed
    *Clean / replace injectors (done)
    *Clean intercooler / intercooler plumbing
    *Compression test

So that is where I'm at after just over 1 year. The plan is to swap some of the go-faster stuff from the T5-R, including larger throttle body, part of the RIP kit & the nitrous. Bringing the T-5R closer to standard might even increase it's value a little

Blue won't suit the Shark though...

[edit - where's my ICV hose?]

I better get a job where I can take a holiday so the fun can commence - no break in coming up 3 months now, nearly killed me

The Shark is displeased....battery absolutely flat, plus what appears to be a cam cover leak just above the exhaust manifold. Trying to get it Mot'd now, stalled (it's a slush box) & the tester wouldn't accept use of a booster box....get to the back of the queue doh. Charging up while I observe from the pub.

The battery fitted is 520 cca, 75 quid from volvo last year. Called them again NOW they tell me there is a 600 cca also available - 95 squids

Flew through the MOT, 3 advisories - o/s driveshaft rubber boot got a nick out of it, rear discs corroded.

The Shark is still sulking as the AC stopped working & key fob battery went flat . Never mind, a few small jobs....coil & battery, 600cca this time no 520 pish

thanks! Tbh they are pretty rare here too now, probably due to lack of popularity rather than being exclusive

    he he.
I actually wanted a white V70T5, but ended up with a silver one (really common in S70/V70 models here). While it's not what I wanted, the advantage is that replacement panels have been easy to get hold of in the right colour.

Air con working again....topped up for free at the main dealer, with the dye in to locate any major leaks

Taking a look underneath the car: there is quite a bit of oil down the back of the engine block, next week will be steaming it off & more leak tracing. Looks like the cam cover to me. That driveshaft rubber boot is chucking grease out now also may as well get that done too

wow over 5000 views..who reads this stuff? haven't you got anything better to do?? Better than watching deadenders or emmerdale street I guess although so is poking yourself in the eyes with cocktail sticks

I'll try and spice it up a bit tomorrow by taking the Shark around Harewood hillclimb...! Assuming they won't laugh me off the course should be fun on the high profile winter tyres!
