    Turbo control valve confusion

    Over the past few months ive gathering up the parts for my S70R
    new radiator
    braided hoses
    wheel bearing
    hand brake cables
    and im now on the home straight reguardng parts.... tho I cant seem to find a turbo control valve I was on ipdusa website
    they list one for a s70 t5 in the parts
    could someone shed some light on this for me please
    its an 1998 s70r manuel

    ipdusa are 89.95 dollars plus 15 dollar postage

    No reason why that won't work mate. Lots of people would say get an OE one but I've got the IPD tcv and it's fine although it takes a while for it to settle-in.
    19t, greens, 3" inlet, 3" downpipe with race cat, V70R catback, autotech map...

    The TCV works by pulses sent from the ECU mate. it's not pressure sensitive, it'll just do as the ECU tells it.
    19t, greens, 3" inlet, 3" downpipe with race cat, V70R catback, autotech map...

    You may find a genuine Volvo one is cheaper, the one for our S60R was only £45 from a main dealer.

    I was saying this to partsforvolvo on the phone justa few days ago im in Belfast and ive priced parts of SMW here who is our main Volvo dealership there prices compared to ruf or pfv or any other dealer ive rang on the mainland is dearer than 20%......

    i have actually got that ipd valve - they keep changing their numbers lately.

    its pfv906136 £98.12

    sorry , i think i said on the phone it was for 1999 on because i was thinking of me7 , but it is for 1998 on so ok for your car.

    sorry, i cant match it for you- our price takes into customs charges (which there will be as an individual) , vat, and shipping costs. which we have already paid out to get them here.

    we do have to make a little profit on the items or we wouldn't be here.

    just off the phone with smw a few moments ago the boy I was chatting to refered to it as a turbo control selinoid confused me even more
    £ 60 plus vat.......

    Turbo control solenoid, turbo control valve, boost control solenoid... All the same thing (it's a valve controlled by an electric solenoid).
    The IPD thing is a lot closer in it's construction to the valves you get on industrial machinery. You can pull it apart and clean it too.

    you didnt mention the abbreviations - tcv tcs or bcv LOL

    how many different names can you have for the same thing?
