One of my customers has just phoned me wanting to know how much his T5 is worth, he's owned it from new and is just on 100k miles, in black and immaculate. I told him £1200, does that seem reasonable?

Sounds a little cheap to me, if it's that immaculate and lowish miles then probably more like 15-1900.

Its so hard to value a car like that. The fact that its not an R makes it harder to value.
1 owner is good, but 100k is not that low miles.

At the end of the day, it's a 17 year old car, to get £1200 for it is pretty good I think, As Liam said, it's not a t-5r

Its a good price for the buyer tho its not an R
Now a days I think it's more about condition of the car than whether it's an R or not. There have been a lot of dogs for sale recently that are commanding goodish money because they are R model cars when a potential buyer would be better buying a T5 for less money in better nick and fitting the lower bumper and wheels.... Also low miles is not an instant guarantee your buying a good car... Through work I hear it all too often that the car doesn't need a service because it's low mileage and I only use it round town.... errr yeah right oh...!
If I was looking for an 850 now the criteria would be clean presentable bodywork with a good solid service history before I considered spec...
