zv 5 is rating C for fuel and C for wet grip,zz3 is rating G for fuel and B for wet grip but I`d go for zv5 tbh for fuel rating and load but wet grip is not far off anyway.

I like falken 452s seem pretty hardwaring and not too expensive - about 70 quid a corner for 17s

The ratings that come with tyres is mainly unhelpful according to the guys that sell/fit them. Bravuris2 is supposed to be the same rating as ZV5 but the Avons are far better on our cars (I've had both for extended periods)

He's right, the Avon's are very good, and quiet too, will be sticking with these for a while me thinks.

Been reading with interest....I'll probably go for the Avons on my new Tethys - I don't want out 'n out winter tyres - just good wet tyres.

Word of warning, they struggle a bit on snow - well mine did but I forgot to drop the tyre pressure. I run 38psi all round, they needed to be about 28-30.

Don't get me wrong mate, I doubt Barums would get close to the Avons in the snow. I'd never driven a powerful car in those conditions befor so I wouldn't want to say anything other than I had to turn the DSTC off and burn through the ice to get up a hill

The avon zz3s i had on my s70r were excellent in the wet and were pretty decent in the snow, for a non winter tyre.
