I unplugged my maf today to see what it ran like and it pulls harder looks like I need a new maf aswell lol. Will it harm to leave it unplugged till I get paid?

The car will use a pre programmed default setting. You will lose a degree of efficiency but you can still run.
You are looking for a couple of hundred for a new one. Make sure you get a Bosch one. You can get a cheapy Chinesey one, but it will be a false economy.
What year is your car? I need a new one and have found a place that can supply me with just the genuine insert and not the housing as well for half the price. Mine is a 2005.

They're not coded mate (unusual for a P2 lol)

Give cleaning it a go, brake cleaner works well

Will give it a go, better than paying a couple of hundred for a new one. So is it safe to drive with it unplugged? Only thing I noticed lastnight on over run it must have been overfueling like mad as it was running rough and kept popping and banging

Usually idle is awful too. It'll use loads of fuel as a means of protecting itself.
Clean the contacts in the maf connections too - I've seen as many maf issues caused by dirty contacts as knackered mafs on the later plodders.

I'm in two minds wether to leave it unplugged. Its hunts on idle but runs fine and is faster but with it plugged in its slow and has like a misfire for about 30 seconds when you first start it. It's gonna be a while before I have 300 quid spare for a maf and lambda

You might get lucky and sort all your problems by giving it a good clean. Probably not though.
I am assured by these people that THIS will fit and work. Even though our cars are not listed, they say it is the one...........
I am going to give it a go as they say that if it is no good I can send it back and swap for the full unit and the housing.

Yep, mine is dodgy. When I plug in my ViDA I get a yellow warning of ECM 120D Air Mass Signal too low and ECM 121B Mass Air Flow flow too low.
I get a few flat spots through the rev range. Its not totally knackered but it is on its way out. Have cleaned it a few times with electrical contact cleaner, but they are like all parts, they will wear out with age and use. I know a chap with a Focus ST and he changes his MAF every 18 months as a matter of course!!!!!

If you go for the insert only, make sure you message them and clarify your issue and get assurances that if it is no good, you can change it for the full item.

Had maf probs yesterday, nearly home and it starts missing and running crap manage to get it to me mams, and have a look looking for the blatant stuff first ie things hanging off etc start it back up and it idles briefly before dying! Try it again and rev it and it nearly chokes me with petrol fumes coming out the exhaust ! So I pull the plug off the maf and it runs sweet as and I've got a spare maf so it was a 10min fix thank The Lord!!
