    850 t5 turbo heat sheild

So I just had a decat downpipe and bsr exhaust fitted.

I removed part of the heat shield so they could get to the turbo studs.

It was a pain to remove and will be doubly worse to re fit.

Should I bother.......will it cause any damage to the components around it

Not that I didn't take your word for it james. Just to see what the general consensus was across the forum.

retain it - especially if it's running higher power - i have seen one melt a top mount bush which i put down to heat radiating out - it was all melted on the side.

Well. Thats why I was asking. When I lifted the bonnet there seemed to be more heat the before.

If the mount gets melted. I will have to order a polybush mount.

Not going to run massive power. Just about 270 bhp

It was a polybush that i saw melted - . - the first thing powerflex asked me when i reported it was is the heat shield still in place? - it was missing.
to be fair they did replace it still for the customer purely out of goodwill.
    that was on a 2001 v70 T5.

    entirely up to you.
