Been a while since I last updated this thread, cars been doing daily duty getting me to work and back every day, sadly though the miles are starting to tell on her and most of the stuff I replaced in the big rebuild is getting broken again. The main issue at the minute is the clutch, when I replaced it I forgot to do the slave cylinder and typically that is now leaking, not badly but enough to have contaminated the clutch and make it judder. Heater matrix seems to leak intermittently (ie.. its fine for months then it will have a week or two of steaming up the windows before stopping for yet more months). N/s front hub needs changing as its making a horrible noise and I dont fancy losing a wheel at speed. Other than that it's had a stock downpipe put on it (new) but is blowing from somewhere (presuming its from the flange where it bolts onto the back of the turbo?). Just ordered stuff to give it a service and to fix some of the above, after that I will attempt to find my boost leak issue again. More when I have some pics etc..

My wheel bearing was making a horrid noise which was getting worse. Turns out the nut I fitted when I changed the CV joint didn't have the locking tabs and the nut had come loose thus letting the bearing come apart and fail

I did quite a few miles with it making the noise though :S

Looking forward to some update pics

Really? that's interesting as the side that's making the noise is the side that had a cv replaced a while back. I'll have a look when I take it apart. Yeah sadly the cars looking very sorry for itself, front end needs a repaint due to stone chips, roof needs doing (its never been very good tbh) and there's one or two other marks on it as well.

As Dave says, daily duties doesn't do our lovely Volvo's much good, but at least we get to enjoy them everyday, rather than just now and again. It's worse when your trying to keep 4 going, I normally manage 2 on the road as daily's for the wife and I, whilst 2 sit and wait for parts and attention. That said, I am in the process of getting all 4 up and running for the VT600 meet.

So, we're now in December and the car has had yet another new clutch, though the damn pedal is intermitantly stiff as buggery and obviously needs a new master cylinder. Engine has also been replaced with one out of an 03 S60 T5, Runs a damn site better and has FINALLY after all these years stopped smoking on tickover!!!.. Think I need to swap out the heater controls as the windscreen keeps misting up and the heater refuses to work on anything but recirculate, I will try and get it swaped tomorrow if I can find the time (looking doubtful already) Car needs the roof repainting as I have bad laquer peel and the front is stone chipped to hell. Seriously considering something a lot newer now..
