    1998 V70 R 179kmiles ....... Sails through MOT!!!! oushhhhh!!

    Ive been bricking it about the MOT as its a 15year old car.... But just had the Call from the gargage saying it Passed. Just and advisory that Handbrake is only Meeting the requierment just about.

    Handbrakes are gash on these cars any way lol
    19t, greens, 3" inlet, 3" downpipe with race cat, V70R catback, autotech map...

    Never found a problem with them that a little adjustment didn't cure!!

    I tried my best to adjust the handbrake on 2 occassions and i was getting really frustrated. But i did enough "Just" ... to get it through. The shoes look like lots of material on them.... but i think the mechanism/springs etc are siezing etc as it doesnt feel right. My little Seat arosa i pull up 1 click and it holds ROCK SOLID.

    Im going to let a machanic sort it out for me as i was getting well §§§§y with it

    I just put 12months tax on it today , and paid 12months Insurance on monday. So hopefully 12months trouble free motoring ahead

    Pleased for you! I find the handbrakes are all or nothing. My R is great but seizes on when wet, and my C70 is useless all of the time.

    congrats fella, got mine coming up first week next month, with an ABS light, HID's with chrome sprayed reflectors and a lambda light and my handbrake does jack (thank god for the auto parked brake lol) don't think mine's going to be the same story

    It was like that with my 2001 T5, I was gobsmacked when it passed with only 2 advisory notices for minor rubbing to the front brake hoses. It's nice when all the hard work pays off doesn't it!
