    Transmission/angle gear/diff service

    Hi,
Anyone know someone in Cheshire/Merseyside area who they could recommend for a check over and flush of the auto transmission and transfer box/rear diff on my P2 V70R prior to a planned MTE remap. Any idea of what is a reasonable price?

I have been quoted £150+ VAT for an inspection / flush and replace seals on the actual 'box so far. They say they have never faffed with the diff / transfer box on these cars however.

    Cheers.

I would strongly recommend finding a Volvo specialist for this kind of work mate - the Haldex systems can be expensive to put right and doesn't take much to ruin one.

The flush on the auto needs approx 9 liters oil just don't use ATF as it wrong.the angle gear oil is a odd oil again, the heldex clutch on back diff is a special oil again, the rear diff oil is a stock type oil.
I had my gearbox oil and software done it cost £200 approx, the other bits I did myself I think the oils came to £75 ish.

Just a clutch and engine shim left. But the clutch has done 120k so I can't complain.

Is the turbo still the original one with those miles on it ,might be a good time to get it looked at as it off the car.
What was the numbers after the map,to slip the clutch, are you going for a stock clutch or a paddle one.

Apparently these turbos are really strong, I dont trust the garages up here so I dont want to tamper to much. I may ask tim williams yo check it when I go down next year. Im going to go for the ap racing clutch but will do more research . Not sure what the numbers are I didn't have it checked tbh it didn't bother me. Pyaap said it pulled very very well with just the map I think he was surprised at how much it pulled but he did say it felt restricted an a performance exhaust will make a big difference
    Thanks

Something lee showed me was when he puts his car into advanced you could hear the exhaust go louder at idle when you stood at the back of the car. I will get one at some point but I'm trying to back off I've spent far too much money, so for now it will be maintenance only.
    Thanks

Thanks chaps. So in summary, make sure you use someone who knows these cars and ask em to use Redline 75W90NS. Trouble is, my local specialist here on the Wirral - Graham Wrightson - have referred me to the local Auto transmission specialist who hasn't ever touched the diff or angle gear on one of these. Can't afford a main dealer. Gonna try my luck with another garage I trust in Leeds.

Btw - what is the weakness in these earlier 5sp autos that requires torque limiting and can you do anything about it whilst you are servicing the transmission?

No just change the oil in the box,the 2006 auto is six speed as well.
The angle gear and rear diff don't have Any drain plugs the oil needs to be sucked out.
