    1998 v70 AWD 2345 t wastegate acuator settings B5234t

I seem to have a boost pressure problem, its driving me mad coz i used to get 12psi 1.2 bar of boost and now i cant. Tryed resetting actuator adjustment to 4.5 psi like i was told to by HLM as it has been remapped there with no success it spikes at 8.5psi at that setting so i tryed putting back to stock adjustment according to engine code 1.8psi and it boosts to 1 bar but dont seem as quick but only spiked at 1 bar for a second then dropped bit gutted really coz it was orsum before an now its not. i have no leaks, splits in pipes. boost control valve? dunno can anyone help pls ? shall i increase the setting to 3 psi?

Would this be a map that you inherited when you bought the car?

I have a adjustable actuator fitted with 0.5 bar spring (7.2psi) 16t preload on rod Just 1 full turn .The actuator came fitted with the 0.3 bar spring (4.35 psi ) but that felt weak so upped to 0.5 bar. Now running 12psi mapped boost , no problems.
They do others but this is mine ,took 4 days to deliver http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kinugawa-A...item1c26563733

Picture in situ . used a couple of washers to give more adjustment range

    Sits pretty don't she

    The Wastegate mystery

No Hammish at HLM remapped my car about a yr ago mate, Ive set it to 1.8psi with a mini vac seems to go well but turbo gauge still only spikes to 1 bar not 1.2 like it used too perhaps some fine adjustment might help ?

I set the actuator to 1.8psi pressure, didnt seem right and would only pull 0.8 bar, i wound it out half a turn and it spiked more at 0.9 bar but dropped out really quickly so i turned it back to what it was and left it........ But wasnt satisfied so i turned it in half a turn and it pulled a bar today should i leave it or should i try for more? Dont wanna thro the crank like. But it looked like the whole in the actuator rod was half way over the wastegate pin does that ring anybells? thankyou all for you kind advice!!!!!!!!!

Hi I do not understand what you mean by setting the actuator...do you mean the pre-load setting ? I do not think you should mess with the preload too much. There is a lot of views on pre load ..here's one to get you started I decided to dump the old actuator from my T16 and put a new adjustable one on, after paying for the turbo then to have it rebuilt ..seems silly to be farting about with a spring strength you have no real idea of ?
I have a LPT 2.5lit and as I am mapped to boost to 12psi ,I have been careful and preloaded just 1 full turn ,I might risk some more after a Dyno. But as it stands I do not get fuel cut off throw EMLs even when the wheels are screeching and the boost gauge is at 0.8/.9 bar's and mines an auto go go go.
