    gear knob

    how do i get the thing off? its not a leather one its a kinda hard foamy one... 95 850 t5

    you have to saw it off lol, it makes a right mess with a bread knife lol

    Not sure if the 850's are the same, but on the C70 i.i.r.c. you have to lift the gaiter up, and undo a retaining screw/bolt, then it pulls off.

    Make a 360 degree shim from some thin metal like a baked been can and push that up inside using a pair of pliers it will release the plastic teeth that are sitting in a groove on the stick inself and the geerknob will just slide off no problems. I removed three v70 ones using this method.

    well i couldn't get the shim under or find a screw so went with frankies advice, it was like it had been dipped and molded to the stick and took about half hour but the end result is this a spare wooden nob from a goodwood....




    i like it, its made the shift shorter and it breaks the colour up a bit too
