Since finding an Abbott racing ecu in my motor I went on a wee mission to find out more and it seems that it has had quite an interesting past. The car was picked up by Abbott racing before it was registered and taken to a tuning company (now defunked) to have the ecu mapped, it was also given an switchable traction control system as the standard volvo unit was deemed a bit useless and also a launch control system but this was disconnected because it was damaging the transmission. Once this was done the car was then delivered to Peter Gethin who was running a racing school at Thruxton and Goodwood for up and coming race drivers and the 850R was his choice of car. Sadly Peter has passed away but I am still looking deeper into this so I can build a history file.
Also found out that there were a handful of these cars were done at the same time, not sure on numbers but all grey 850R's
