Had a look around online some on had same problem an he replaced some mounts an a rubber linkage bush an was still doing it occasionally i think it said. Just wanted to ask on here see if any one knew specificly what it was
It also has slight water leak from waterpump aswell but they said only like a pint per month

    Hi mate.
You may be better off waiting for a better car to come up, one with fewer problems.
The 2.5 lpt engine has a fair bit of grunt, but will be held back by the 4x4 system a bit.

Well, the water pump will need changing, possibly do that with the timing belt?
The gear linkage problem could be down to worn mounts and the gear linkage itself. Toyota MR2 brass bushes are a good replacement for the ends of the linkage, where it connects to the gearbox.

If its poping out of a gear it will most likley be a worn fork not being able to hold it in place

Does it do it on a trailing throttle or under load?
