    Rear LEDs

    Just out of interest.
    Has anyone done it before?
Replacing the bulbs on the rear lights on a phase 1 to led?
I mean all bulbs. Do they trigger bulb failure, or may don't even work at all, blow melt or make you invisible?

Seen on the phase 2 it is possible to do it with resistors.
Just enquire because if they fit and work better as the standart ones without any
Modifications I get some and try it myself.
Just don't want to buy them and throw t in the bin after as they not cheap, unless
    Using the ebay "cheap" version.

Also thinking of less power usage.
Is 2 running lights each side, brake/stop lights , reverse, indicators and fog.
Also thinking of getting LEDs in the top end of the light cluster as this is only
Blind and not illuminated on the phase 1 .
    At least not on mine.

    Thanks

    Well.
Look like nobody tryd or know about it.
Maybe worth getting some cheap ebay LEDs first and try them.
See what happens and then make a desktop about getting better
Ones which will last a bit.

I've only done this with the rear indicators on my P1 C70. As you said, I needed load resistors. Most LED bulbs now come with in-built load resistors so ask before buying.
The ones I had only had face mounted LEDs which I found dimmer than the original filament bulbs I took out, so I personally woldn't do it again. I'd recommend getting bulbs with LEDs around the sides too, but be mindful of their size. The best betis to not get LEDs but SMD's (the ones that look like flat squares) as they are much brighter due to not losing any light energy through the plastic 'lense' (because they don't have one!)

Ok. I'll check this out. Thanks.
Was thinking off them with the LEDs around the side.
Tryd the standart ones before and yes the look like a small 1 watt led.
If I make a desertion and go for it ill post some pics.

Try finding something on the net to see how it looks before spending money in some I don't like.

Been at a tuning place for cars, some small place I found a couple weeks back.

They was quiet happy having a look at my idea and replaced all rear light bulbs for
Actually good ( I think, defently expensive light bulbs / led ) and the result
Was not recommending or better nobody was happy about it. ( not me at all )
It looked on the daytime light like there was some little candles in it.
    No light output at all.
Sticking to the normal light bulbs in the back. Shame, I thought it make the rear light brighter and more modern,
But as they says as well, you need panel led plates with resistors, means the lights have to come apart to fit them.
The whole cluster would be without the original back and may difficult to put it perfect back, also may need to seal it on the
Car body as the original seals not fit anymore.
That's to much hassle for it in my opinion.
Also if they starting to brake then I have to replace every time the full panel.
One of them in size to fit would cost around 12 quit each. Times 4 by rear lights, times 2 for stop lights.
Times 2 for reverse and times 2 for indicator.
That's around 100 quit each side. No no no. Get some chat lights for the same price. Lol

Maybe spray them black to tint as the car is black. .? ?
