    I don't NEED any more.....but just in case !

Right, I'm looking for some guidance on what I could possibly do (in the future) to the V70 to up the power a tad, she put out 257bhp and 274ft/lb on Saturday and I was just wondering what I'd need to do to say up those figures to around the 300bhp and 320ft/lb mark.

I am somewhat lacking in mechanical knowledge so I'm putting this out there to those of you who know what you are talking about and have done it yourself. Please try and explain any recommendations you make along with a rough costing if you can.

I currently have a map from 'Racetune' a division of PWCars, when I e-mailed them today I received this.....

I assume 257bhp is at the rollers, not the flywheel. From memory you car is one of the fastest V70 classics I’ve driven and I wouldn’t suggest it will get much faster upping the map as there isn’t much difference between power and eco and fully blown power maps. Throttle would be a little bit more responsive. If you can send me the dyno sheet I can ask the opinion of some of our Volvo tuning partners taking into account the mods on the car.

Does this sound about right ?

Am I looking to go down the uprated fmic and cat back exhaust route or should I consider a different turbo, if so would the map I have work with it ?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just hoping for some informative educated posts to help make my mind up

    Here's what I'm starting with.....

Ok, so that's 2 for the bigger turbo, but what kind of remap would a bigger turbo need ?

18 or 19t will see you fine but be carefull regarding what map you get as these will bend rods with a aggressive map

Bigger I/C, race cat, 3" downpipe and a 2 1/2" system then get a custom map to suit mate. If you're gonna spend the money, get a map made to your preferences.

    i.e. limited to 39mph

You will have to think about more expensive tyres, better shocks and better brakes. more regular/expensive oil changes, more petrol (a lot more) CV joints wearing faster, blah blah...

What do you want from the car mate? super sleeper?
19t, greens, 3" inlet, 3" downpipe with race cat, V70R catback, autotech map...

    310.2bhp / 333ft/lb

If only ME7 were that simple. ECU & the CEM are intrinsicly linked - so you cannot plug & play my 19T map. You'd have to flash it onto the ECU that belonged to that car.

Graham STOP! it's enough... You have one of the best examples in the country if not THE best why change it. We were all surprised at the RR day at your power output it's like your car has been stuck in a time warp and is almost as perfect as when it rolled off the production line...

That is a HUGE statement in itself and i think we all secretly admire your car even more after the RR... Be proud VERY proud and leave your car in peace instead of modding her and possibly Rip.....

Your car is " Powerful " by being just the way it is and that carries more weight than any Modding could if you know what i mean... I LOVE your car for its sheer simplicity Graham and as a friend i wouldn't change a thing, it is perfect!
