    V70 R manual pre me7 safe boost

Hi all im just wondering if my car is ok to run at 16psi? I hear these rods are weak on these cars, i really don't want to bend one. Am i right that a Rica map will have the car boosting around 16psi?

    Cheers

I would of thought so but wait for someone that know's for deffinate, dont want to bend those rod's. You want a remap to make the most of it too.

Did the 850's have weaker rods or is it just the later V70's that got stronger rods.
Ok so with the Rica map it should be ok at 17psi yeah?

its urban myth about stronger rods, its my belief that all 850 and phase 1 t5 engines are the same, ive had enough of them. you wont get 17psi from a rica map more like 15psi any more is a bonus and that only if your car is healthy, make sure its boosting to 9.6psi before the map goes in

Im running a mbc at the moment and it runs 15psi no probs and pulls very well. What would you suggest i run it at with the map. Im buying a mapped ecu from a forum member so don't have it yet.
    Thanks

Run it as its meant to be ie no mbc and see what you think, its a rica 310 so is perfect for your's, if you want to turn it up after that the fueling should be good for 18psi but dont floor it till after 3k anytime
