so been getting stuck in last couple of days went and bought a doner car with 69k on it as mine started showing signs of rust lol yes rust....so had somthing like a 400 mile journey to get it and home again car does still need some paint but bonnet boot lid and other panels are originally black so no need to do intire panels inside and out.. they are in much better condition than mine....also the wiring harness for my radio came so sorted the mess behind my radio and installed radio mic and ipod now concealed in the armrest ..not a problem for the alpine cde103 bt as it can control ipod from head unit also has bluetooth for hands free ect. bits ive taken/taking from donor car are
    bonnet
    passenger wing
    two passenger doors
    bootlid
driver rear door undecided but slight bubbling on mine
varios trim pieces and clips ect
so pictures below are my wig being taken off and reason wing off=

    reason its off

close up see it creep up the wing how i noticed

    donnor car starting stripping

wing thats replacing mine dent free

even the inner bracket that was hold it was rusting so replaced that

also while off noticed some surface rust behind the wing run off got some treatment for it and seen to it

    used this

give it a good wire brushing then applied and left to dry 20mins

    after dried sprayed over it

donnor wing fitted and lined ...lined well from old markings where bolts where

then proceeded to fit both donor doors rear was tricky as wasnt electric not to hard to sort really donnor car had a pin stripe which i havent removed as it helps line the panels some slight adjusting to do but altogather a good job

got my son 8 years old son envolved let him rebiuld the donnor lol he was a great help lining panels ect fetching tools lol

    more tommorrow!

so done another bit today my handbake just stopped working not quite sure when think only one wheel was holding when she was parked so time to investagate ....pulled of one of my rear discs to see what was going on in there was shocked by what i found lol ......not a drop of pad compound!

so needless to say phoned the local motor factor orderd some shoes had to wait a few hours on them coming in
then got stuck in changing them nice write up on voc that helped as it was my first time doing them
new pads on and adjuster cleaned and oiled for adjustment

old shoes vrs the new shoes no wonder handbrake wasnt working lol

new shoes fitted and awaiting disc back on and adjusting......

once id done this was getting kinda dark and decided to pull her out give her a wash and now the handbrake is back to perfection........couple of shots

last one shows the other halfs leon 2.0 tfsi in the pic no diesels for us lol.............

oh on another note may be of use to others as mentioned hate that she is out in the elements and wanted to do a carport ect may have found the perfect solution orderd this from the bay looks quite good and great price at the minute £139 down from £199 so didnt hesitate and bought one will do a thread on it when it arrives but should protect her nicely
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Polytunnel...item1e7760a9dc
the perfect width for my drive and should have plenty of room round the car get an outdoor tube light and it might even hold heat lol..........think il lay some cheap lino and carpet tiles for the tyre tracks should be well worth the money!

so some updates need to push this on again still been getting bits and pieces gatherd up and on a good note the titans are sold and to be collected next week or two and im onto a set of 17"pegs although they are silver will do for now.......car will run steel rims for mot ect the the brakes and pegs will be fitted...i have placed my order for my catback now graheme has jiged up the 850 and already have this

as you can see its angled 200cell with 3"outlet as the turbo i got from tfm is 3"out 16T off an s60

also treated her to a new battery

and whilst getting this nipped into maplin and bought this they are on offer at the minute at 12.50
    its a solar trickle charger...

so im going to arrange her to go have fitted
    M59
    S60R manifold
    16t
    white injectors
downpipe and cat back when it arrives
on the next note i need a clutch kit and cant for love nor money get a sachs kit anywhere here i have priced the luk item and am told its oem equivelant and high quality any thoughts?
once these bits are done i am going to do a fluid change/refresh on the brake try get them so no probs for mot and get this car on the road!

Things have probley changed but many years ago we had a bad luk clutch for a 240 weather they were a bad batch I dont know but after 2 luk clutches only the sachs solved the problem ever since ive used sachs as I said its a personal opinion but these days every item like u said seem to be made by the same companys just branded different
