    Exclamation Limp Home Mode Help!

    Hi Peeps,

i have been driving my car today (2002 S60 D5) and it has thrown up a message saying engine system service required and is in limp mode! it only has a yellow triangle not red?

Does anybody know what this could be and how i can sort it.

What were you doing when this happened?

Was it 'Engine System Service Urgent'?

Usual suspects if you were accelerating hard at the time are: EGR valve, Intercooler, Front engine mount and associated hoses (sounds daft).

If you were sitting idling at the time: Fuel system (injector leaking back, fuel pressure sensor, fuel filter blocked).

If the fault is intermittant it should go back to normal after you switch the ignition off, then start back up again.

I'd read the codes & find out what was wrong, otherwise I wouldn't be surprised if it does it again

    Now you've jinxed it!!!
I would get your codes read just to be safe. They will be stored and your little episode could be a precursor to a disaster.
Sorry to be a doom merchant, but these things very rarely come and go with no consequences

    Good luck, keep us posted.

    +1 to that.

If it's done it once, it'll eventually do it again. Find out what it is before it put's your car off the road. Limp mode 100+ miles away from home isn't funny!
