    RIP kit dump valve fitment

I know what your thinking, not another RIP kit thread. So i do apologize, but ill carry on.

So i bought a kit from another Volvo forum, below

Now my question is, does it all look complete? And where would i need to place a dump valve, i seen a few people say as close to the throttle body as possible? Can you buy a T piece to fit this, if you can what size is needed?

From the picture below you can see mine is welded onto a home made pipe, would that work?

    Thanks for your help.

Theirs a rubber coupling mixing that goes onto the turbo, not sure if you can use your current one or not

as for the dump valve, it wants to be as close to the throttle body as possible. Alot of people buy a universal T-piece from the likes of Fleabay & jubilee it into the pipe

Hello bud, when i did mine Using the same bits that you have. I used a ebay T-peace on the pipe that goes from imtercooler to T-body cut it between the two wobbly bits, then notched out a hole for the T spout and then pushed them back together, couple of clips, few chose words and all is good.
Just make sure you mark up with the pipe fitted where your going to put the notch.
    Hope that helps.

Branch diameter on all e-bay tubes for this application are all 25mm - which will fit the BOV you already have. Main diameter will vary - measure you RIP kit pipe and match the diameter.

Thanks pal, I'll have to wait for it to be delivered.

Can you run the RIP kit without the dump valve and a blanking plate?

A rip kit has nothing to do with a dump valve, it's just pipework routed differently

Has anyone fitted the dump valve in the pipe that goes from the turbo to the intercooler ?

Wouldn't it be better to vent warm air to atmosphere instead of cooled air ?

These are the 2 schools of thought. Given that the normal recirc on TD04 based mitsu turbo's is actually on the turbo itself - I don't think there is a lot in it.

Perhaps if you're recirculating (like me) then having it on the turbo pipe makes sense - as the turbo spins on the same redrafted air as it comes past the compressor again.

For atmospheric BOV - I think so long as you choose one end & not in the middle - there will be F/A difference.
