Daily Quiz-How much did a main dealer charge me for fitting 2 parking light bulbs?

Took my V70 T5 53 plate into a main dealer as I just couldn't get my hands anywhere near the bulbs so I assumed there was a special tool or method.25 minutes in the workshop(I assume they had trouble as well!!) How much do you reckon the bill was?...over to you

i am going for £47 inc bulbs.

officially, health and safety (now i'll wash my mouth out !) from volvo says not to try to install these without unclipping the bumper and moving headlight on the later cars due to risk of cuts on sharp edges, but it can be done by people with long thin fingers- not me!!

on a 53 plate, i though it was quite easy though ?

I have long fingers and I find it a right pain. Unclipping the bumper won't help (I have a 03 plate V70 so I know) as it doesn't hold the clusters at all. But you'd still have to faff about, unbolting the top light cluster, then the bottom one to get them out, which is much harder than changing the bulbs.

Parking light bulbs on the facelift are almost impossible without removing bumper, I did all 4 on the S60 yesterday (facelift model) bumper off, headights outs replaced the capless bulbs, all back together, took just under 25 mins, needed wife to help just to clip the headlight washers

Book time IIRC is about 10 mins for Passenger and 15 for drivers side (so whipping bumper off drive myself is as quick as they recon with fiddling and cutting hands to shreds, so just under 1/2 hour, I paid 80p a bulb, about 60 quid (50 labour and 2.50 a bulb)

My Logic
£68.00 / 2 = £34.00 1/2 hour labour
Bulb = £8.70

Total - 42.70 + VAT
= £51.24....??

Or Bumper off ~ £92.04

this isnt fair- it depends on the labour rate p/h in your area of the country.....

£125 in london, £60 in norwich was the most variation i know of.
