My block which I got off Niles has has its block ground away in the sump area to accommodate a 4WD setup. NILES said the old owner of the block gave up on the idea. Might be an idea to pm Niles to see if he remembers who it was.

It would be easier to get a V70R awd and swap all the front panels to make it look like an 850.

I wouldn't bother, once the angle gear goes south you will be back to two wheel drive.

There was a thread somewhere in which someone did it (as stated above) but its a massive job as the rear suspension on an AWD is completely different and requires fabrication of the mountings, then theres all the bits you need like fuel tank, exhaust awd system parts, brake system, steering rack, etc.

Ah, found the thread, on Turbobricks

The cost of converting would be far more than buying an XC70 or V70R...

A T5 ecu wont work as the ignition and fuelling would be different, it might run but not very well.

The 2.5 LPT is really held back by the ecu (turbo is usually a 13G on early LPTs and uses red injectors). A remap will push it to around 235bhp (assuming everything else is working). Alternatively you can fit a 16T, white injectors, filter, exhaust and remap that should see around 270-280, only problem being finding someone to map it.

The only other thing to do is bang a T5 engine and ecu in it.
