    More dealer mishaps

When the R was in to the main dealer for its service at summer time, I got them to touch up a couple little marks on the centre consul. the black plastic had a couple little marks on it where it had worn through to the white finish, it really wasn't bad but I just thought I would get it sorted since it was in.

This is the end result. Raging!! I never thought they were going to spray paint let alone use a totally different colour and cover my interior in the stuff.

I called them when I got home and they have told me next time I am down that way take it in, and they will sort it out, I don't think they will be able to sort it TBH.

Do you think I'm being to fussy with this?

This is the original area with the mark. You can still see specs of white.

Look at the last photo and the area I marked in red had some white marks on it, and that was it. I would never have bought the car if the interior was a mess lol.
    Thanks

Definitely not fussy and that's an outrageous attempt at repair. The way I see it hyperthetically is its like a contractor coming into your house on behalf of the insurance company after a water leak over your carpet and cutting out the effected area and replacing it with a different carpet!

Make sure you return it for sure, if the results are not satisfactory and you have it invoiced that its been repaired talk to trading standards.

Hopefully not indeed! Best of luck.

Too many people these days seem to just accept poor standards as a given, afraid almost to kick up a fuss or talk to someone. Not that Im saying thats you by any means Martyn!

no way would i let that drop. i had issues with a car repair just over a year ago when some one went into back of me. nothing lined up and i had to dig my heels in to get it sorted. i told my insurance assesor that i was going to get the work assessed by a private company and once the report confirms what i wanted to hear ill be taking them to court. after that he started to be a bit more willing to help. befor it was trying to f*ck me off. car ended up going to my garage of choice and arnold clarke paid the bill. get the number of manager. regional manager if you can. id want them to collect and have the parts replaced that theyve made a mess of. im sure its around 35quid to open a case at the small claims court.

That's gash mate. If they used an outside company for the plastics, tell them to send the company to your house and put it right.

    Yeah - that's pants!

We had a crap paint repair on my sister's Yaris (think I posted up on here at the time to get some input, just as you have). Got that redone to a good standard just by asking.

Mate, you have my heart felt sympathy here. Main Stealers are complete idiots (I hate them), and I bet they had the cheek to charge you £80 - £100 an hour for this bodged up job too. I would write a stern letter to the Dealer Principal threatening them with Trading Standards and an official complaint to Volvo UK Customer Services with the documented evidence, unless they rectify the problem and put back the car to the original factory finish.

I bet they'll try and use solvent on the dash/trim to remove the paint, but what they're probably too thick to realise is that will make it worse and take the surface off the dash. I'd be demanding a new interior for their cowboy error or failing that, sue the barstewards.........

    Best of luck with it!

    Regards

    James
