Charity Track Day RAF Marham 20-21st April

    Hi all,

Another year another track day! The more that come the better, all cash raised after airfield costs go to charity and some £6000 was donated last year.

    Taster Video:

The track-day utilizes the 1.5 mile runway and taxi-ways and offers a fun, challenging and safe course. The runway itself is 75m wide and the taxi-way sections offer various complexes all with safe run offs.

There is a maximum of 180 cars per day and the tracks run live open pit lane from around 10am till 4pm each day.

Registration is now live via the website:

    http://www.marhamtrackday.co.uk/registration/

    Costs are as follows

    Saturday only or Sunday only

£60 for the car and 1st driver, + £10 for each extra driver up to a maximum of 3 additional drivers per car

    All Weekend

£120 for the car and 1st driver, plus £10 for each extra driver up to a maximum of 3 additional drivers per car. Additional drivers are free on Sunday providing they are the same ones that were paid for on the Saturday.

    Some examples

Saturday only for 1 car £60 total

    Saturday only for 1 car plus 3 additional drivers = £60 + £30 = £90 total

    All weekend for 1 car plus 3 additional drivers = £120 + £30 = £150 total

    Driver Info:

    http://www.marhamtrackday.co.uk/tack-info/driver-info/

    Passenger Info:

    http://www.marhamtrackday.co.uk/tack-info/passenger/

So come on folks, cheap and a bloody good day out! Oh and as I was the only Volvo last year I would love to boost attendance a little!!!

Registration is now re-open. There was an issue with the payment system which has since been resolved.

Ill have to confirm with the organizer, usually its a combination of local and national charities. I do know its slightly more complicated as the MOD control an element of the decision process.

I can name a few past charities which include, Make a Wish Foundation which supports children, Scotties Little Soldiers who provide for the children of families who have lost parents in Afghanistan, The Anthony Nolan Trust, East Anglia's Volunteer Community First Responder, Air ambulance and many others.

What I can categorically say though is NO profit whatsoever is taken from the event bar the usual caterers, the MOD donate the airfield which would usually cost £10,000 to hire for the weekend. E-Tyres last year came to change tyres and donated all changing fee's to charity too.

In the last 7 years of the track day £200,000 has been raised.

Direct quote from the Driver Terms:

Note we now have to implement a noise limit to reduce impact on local residential areas. No unsilenced exhaust systems will be permitted. A noise limit of 105 dB will be enforced (measured at 0.5m and 45 degree angle from exhaust exit at 2/3 of max rpm). Cars exceeding this limit will not be permitted on track.
