    Intake cleaning

So after cleaning my air filter, I've decided I wanna clean the intake aswell.

After trying to find a guide online I've hit a bump, one says to remove maf sensor others say not to.

Can you spray straight into the inlet pipe?

Does anyone have a step by step guide or just general advice?

    Many thanks

Pull the MAF off mate and put it somewhere safe while you clean the rest of the intake pipe. Make a note of where everything goes (there's some smaller pipes coming off it near the turbo) and make sure you take your time.
Clean the maf with brake cleaner or electrical contact cleaner, by squirting the sensor in short blasts, through the mesh (don't touch the sensor part with anything other than liquid - they aint cheap) - no need to remove the sensor from the housing.

are talking about cleaning the valves/decoking? When I did betsy early last year - I used one of the small vacuum tubes off the inlet manifold.

Intake pipe mainly And throttle body, but if there's any where that would be worth while doing them I'm up for it!

Well you can pay to get the engine terracleaned - and that is a good thing to do. Less expensive and probably less effective measures like I used involve spraying a cleaner into the engine as it is running to remove excess coke deposits from the valve stems & backs. I know for a fact that my valves on the old engine were clean as a whistle - because I saw them when I was swapping the manifolds around.

I am hunting around now to find the brand I used.

Will give it ago, thanks guys! I was getting confused of spraying through the air intake pipe from the air filter, rather than the intercooler pipes onto the throttle body!
