D5 failed MOT, front exhaust flexi, which replacement?

    Hi All

My faithful S60 D5 has just failed its MOT on a couple of minor things,
    but the biggy
    Is the front CAT flexi

    My options are

£150 for a second hand unit
    £250 for a new one
    £££££ for a cat delete???

Anyone done a CAT delete?? MOT friendly?? How much?

She also needs rear brake shoes and a flexi brake hose on the front

On the plus side, he said the cars amazing for its age and mileage and the engine is sweet

Unfortunately a CAT is a serviceable item so was going to go eventually. You should ring a couple of scrap yards and find out what they are paying for your old one as they are full of precious metal.

You could get a new bit of flex pipe welded in,as you can buy it easy.

No probs Graham, will let you know.

I might go with Harvey's idea and see if i can just get the Flexi Pipe replaced by Pipe Werx as Steve suggested them.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Just that, 2 new flexi brake pipes and rear shoes to do aswell, then i can get her MOT'd again
    Thankyou, Goodnight....much love

    Quick Update:

I now have a new MOT . It wasn't the flexi that was split, there was a gap / blank missing from the EGR??? (so said the mechanic) New front brake pipes, new pads all round and new rear handbrake shoes

Im going to re-MOT in June, as January is a bad time for MOT'ing if it costs a few quid
    Thankyou, Goodnight....much love
