Me too......
I watch the fitter like a hawk and always make sure they use the stick on weights otherwise they just blindly hammer on the rim weights!
I kindly asked the tyre fitter to be careful when he did my rear tyres - I have rattle-can sparkly black wheels. Not a mark on them from changing the rubber but he managed to scratch every bolt recess with the windy-gun

i got away without them making a mark and adhesive weights on the inside - phew
i also removed the locking wheelnut myself when i got there (had to drill the last set of when changing wheels) and wouldn't let them use their airgun to undo or tighten the wheelbolts back up

I couldn't get too funny with them...
While they were doing the tyres I thought I'd see if the new Apex springs were seated right... pulled one and it popped - out and took me an hour to get the fekker back in lol. They were very patient

The very thought of leaving my car in the hands of a Tyre fitter makes my skin crawl and brings me out in sweats! I too watch them like a hawk and i insist that they do not use an air gun...PERIOD. ALL the wheels nuts removed and fitted by hand, else they WILL pay for any damage or scratches. Once your wheels are refurbed you just gotta make sure they are clean when you take your car there, then its an easy sell. Its blatantly obvious that my wheels are mint and you can see the fitter handling them like a new born baby

My Amaltheas are completely knackered with paint peeling off them left right and centres plus bubbles of rust thatnks to 236,000 miles of useage, so at the moment I wouldn't worry too much about my wheels. However, when I have them refurbed or get new ones, I'll be very worried about tyre fitters marking the finish and I sympathise with anyone who feels the same way.
This reminds me, I better get some close-up shots of my wheels to show you all just how bad they really are. From a distance they just about pass but as you get closer they really show their age, all I can do at the moment is keep them clean with a bottle of 'Wonder Wheels' until I can afford to have them recoated.

James
When I was in Hull one tit managed to do my spotless rim,he got what he deserved but that didn`t make the rim look better.Other cases either didn`t care or sold before even touching it.
I had the same issue when I got my tyres fitted to my new rims, yes no problem to fit mate easy to without any damage untill I took them out the van still boxed and and in foam, then said the guide on machine was worn and haven't got a new one for machine best try a different firm.
Took the wifes freshly powdercoated alloys to the guys that work on my cars so they could put the tyres back on and they refused to do it as they said that their machine might mark them. Fair play to them I thought....
