    Is it pretty straight forward?

I imagine involving from the turbo and exhaust system is from underneath... But do you remove the heat shield from above? Removal of the strut brace required?

    Thanks

Heat shield is a pig to get out of the engine bay, but if you manage it, leave it off. It's nothing but a nuisance.
There'll be 2 lambda probes to disconnect too. Do-able with ramps and basic tools.

The heat shield is bolted to the exhaust manifold and is fun to get out of the engine bay, once out of the engine its straight in the bin
The downpipe is bolted onto the turbo hsg with 3 bolts, then undo the exhaust clamp after the cat, disconnect the lambda sensors. On my 850 they is a plate that is bolted to the car and covers part of the exhaust I don`t no if yours would be the same. I can swap over a downpipe/cat in about 30 mins

Thanks very much for the help.

So should I prep the studs with anything? WD40? Heat? Or simply go at it with care?

Where should I buy replacement gasket? GSF?

    Many thanks

I`d give all the bolts a soaking in WD40 and leave for 30mins

They is no gasket between the downpipe and the turbo hsg

Ok so mine will need one then.

And just out of interest are the T5 flanges the same the whole way through P2?

From 2000-2007/8 even if its 2.3 or 2.4?

    Cheers

Not sure, the 2.4 has a different turbo so may be different.

I`ve got 03 s60r exhaust manifold on my 850 which had a k24 bolted to it and now it has a 15g/19t hybrid bolted to it.

x3 10mm bolts to the turbo. treat these with respect. i striped one of mine. ended up removing the turbo so could tap it. it dont exactly the same next time i removed the down pipe. its now fitted with x2 proper bolts and a m6 nut and bolt as im not removing the turbo again just to run a tap down it. its a fairly easy job. x3 10mm bolt down pipe to turbo. leave the lambas in the down pipe and disconect the harnes. one plug is behind the airfilter the other is next the the rubbers on down pipe. getting the rubbers off is a pain. exect to loose skin and bang your head a few times. if you can id try and soak the bolts in wd40 a few days in advance, give them a squirt everyday.
