    855 t5 Intercooler's??

Ok, my 855 is in need of a intercooler, ive found to that i think are right, One is a Drop in Direct fit uprated one from sweden, the other is the RS500 style.

Which one/design do you think will be better, i'm not worried about core thickness as i have plenty of space since the t5 has no a/c.

I'm thinkin the RS500 style if mounted so the outlets are at the top is the better one because the pipe work will be alot shorter than the Volvo design.

    What do you guy's think??

Im not sure to be truthful, I think the drop in design that matches the Volvo may well be best for ease of fitment and performance.

I know what your thinking though the pipework to the throttle body would be 12 inches long or something daft like that. However if I remember correctly Volvo had to change the pipework from reversed as the system was too efficient at cooling? Perhaps even smaller pipework may cause problems?

If your in no rush Id be very tempted to give this one a go...

That one in the link does look good but unsure about the quality, a direct fitment one would be the way to go, i think the reason volvo changed the pipe work as emlyn said above was due to freezin in the colder climates if you can get your hands on a ths intercooler they are nice and built like a tank here a link to myne

I don't understand why everyone like the poorly designed Volvo type, go for the RS500 type, much more efficient pipework run. I'd just look for something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MITSUBISHI...item5aeb406baa

I think spesh fitted a rs500 intercooler i rememeber him saying there was alot of chopping involved in fitting one, i understand the pipe work will be better and shorter but i think merc wouldnt want to go chopping all his front pannel etc

This is the one I have in mind. The rs 500 is ok for a project but as a family car aswell I souldn`t do any chopping.

If you read the this about intercoolers

    http://www.are.com.au/techtalk/intec...20or%20Profile

The one for the volvo is the better intercooler as these ones have poorer air flow
