Now have problem with engine, head gasket gone, but so thiny leak that even cant notice, only on full boost Temp guage jumps up.
Car is daily so cant live without her.
Iwe got other engine, and today removed Valve cover, and oil sump, checked all liners looks very solid, engine turns very easy, but it got 200 000 or somthing near that, just woundering, should i change piston rings, and clean valve seats, or i can just swap engine? And how its easier remove engine from car with gearbox or without gearbox?
    Cheers.
    Here is some pics.

And does somebody know why head and valve cover has different numbers? It should be like that? Cheers.

Is that not the original cross hatching finish from honing, measure the ring gap to check for wear.

Put a ring down the cylinder, square it off with pushing a piston behind it, the take a feeler gauge to the ring gap and measure it.
