    air temperature sensor

    i've removed the trip computer from BT, so can i bin the air temperature sensor thats mounted behind the bumper? I thought it wasn't present on cars without the trip computer but just want to be 100% before i cut it to find the ecu does use it as well lol

    I`ve removed mine as it drained the battery over night.

    1996 850 T5 AWD - Self tuned M4.4 ECU with COP`s, B5254T ( S60R internals in a 850 block ) ostrich 2.0 , VXR injectors @ 3.8 bar, K24 turbo with a 6+6 compressor wheel, 3.25" MAF, top mounted Dump Valve, RN Exhaust manifold, 3" downpipe with 200 cell cat, 2.75" Stainless exhaust, Brembo calipers, S60R brake discs, stainless RIP kit, 3" Throttle body,

    Think the intake air temp sensor that the ecu uses is built into the maf (if not they are usually in the intake pipe), the bumper mounted one is just for the display in the car afaik.
    Old Car: 855 T5 in Grey and rust (dead and gone, well, most of it !

    Don`t cut it the ECU does use this sensor for finer fuel trim limits.

    ah, that could actually work to my advantage thanks. Once i get enough pennies the Turbo-Tuner ecu i'm getting will be set to ignore diagnostics anyway

    Thats interesting, mine is now plugged into the airbox, sdo I can see the air intake temp. I wonder what it makes of that

    In my 460 heated seats would not come on unless temp was under 4oC. Nor sure if there is the same cut out on 850s but I wouldn't be surprised.

    i haven't got heated seats any more lol
