    Talking Recirculating atmospheric dump valve

Hi, I have bought an atmospheric dump valve for my c30 T5 and was wondering if any one has ever fitted one to the s40 or V50 or c30 as it seems abit of a big job to do, well a few hours any way. so if anyone has any advice on how to help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think your ecu will throw a hissy fit if you try and fit a dump valve.

With newer cars, the ecu knows exactly how much air is in the system at any given time, If you start venting metered air to atmosphere, the ecu will think there's a leak and go straight into limp mode.

I just got me a Tial QR - which recirculates. Mind you if you buy these cheapo 30 quid jobs from the bay - I know you'll hit issues.

This is an expensive one, 140 quid from an st performance place. It's a proper direct replacement from the original one but when that one recirculates all the air pressure what it doesn't need into the turbo system after boost they say it wears the turbo so I've got one that dumps a little bit of pressure out and keeps most of it back in so it like does a 50/50 split which should give it a nice little noise and they say from others around that it doesn't affect the ecu at all. We will see what happens soon enough. Hopefully tomorrow!

I've fitted the atmospheric recirc valve on today and no warning lights have come up so id say it was a success.

It's 2007. And my mate had got a 59 plate with one on his and it doesn't make any difference to the car or ecu warning lights. There designed for the st so volvo is the same. Not a problem!
