    302's

I've put my 302 carriers onto my 850 r today , does anyone know the part number for the spring clip to hook in the caliper and round the carrier, I've used the 850 one but it isn't right as its making the pad bind.

Double check the spring... I fitted mine wrong and had to put my foot through the floor to stop.

It almost appears that the spring that was on is not the correct spring to work on the 302 carriers? The pedal feels so spongy and all I've done is change the disc the caliper carrier and the pads? The spring only fits one way so I'm kinda scratching my head? I think I might check the pistons are not sticking but I can't see why they would as the brakes although extremely worn were ok up until today's upgrade?

What are the conditon of the hoses like? Yes the Clip is the same regardless, You can buy new ones in a pad fitting clip.

Did you clean and grease the caliper slider's? and what make of pads and disc's did you use?

I'm hoping the carriers are right? There not handed are they? The hoses are fine, I've taken ebc green stuff pads off with APEC discs and fitted 302 APEC discs and ac delco pads, something isn't right as the pedal is instantly super spongy and the brakes have no bite at all? Also the pads appear to be binding but only on the outer edge of the disc? Really strange?the sliders were cleaned and sprayed with a Teflon grease while swapping carriers over

    Look at this picture...

If your spring is mounted the same way as this, it's on WRONG.

What you are describing sounds exactly like the results of the mistake I made.
The tabs at the furthest part of the spring go on the other side of the carrier lugs.

Hi no my springs are on the correct side but my caliper doesn't have the two tabs for the spring to sit behind? Are the spring clips defiantly the same as they list 2 different part numbers?

All sorted guys, it seems the pads were at fault? I removed the pads and noticed they didn't sit flat in the caliper? Removed a bit if the pad ( metal part ) and hay presto perfect pedal!
    Cheers guys.
