    S60 t5

Hi again everyone, joined the Forum in September, had just got a 2001 Silver S60 2.0T, with upgraded 17" wheels and leather door cards from an SE model, I posted up how to mod it and got advice to get rid and get a T5.
Anyway I've now got a T5, 2002 Black with Full leather and plenty of toys to play with, all I can say is Wow!!! it was sound advice thanks to all.
Now the Modding will start, Remap, Exhaust, Filter etc.
Silver one is now Forsale, if anyones interested, lol.

Glad you listened - best way is always to start from a position of strength. 1200 quid will make 300 bhp - 19T - dp - cat back & a remap. Bish bash bosh.
Cheaper if you can find some 2nd hand parts along the way.

Haha! welcome to the T5 elite

Was it you with the crispy-fried fuse board?

First and most cheap/fun mod... Get a big cone filter and remove the soundproofing from the bonnet...

19 t is a turbo think ours is a 16 t as standard if I remember correctly the 19 t will give more boost and hold it for longer, dp stands for downpipe aim for at least 2.5 inch diameter although a lot of people go for the full 3 inch, I have a s60 t5 se before you do anything performance wise I'd recommend polybushing the wishbone and maybe upgrading the shocks as this will improve handling a lot and when you start making it faster this will help a lot. I've just done my wishbones and looking at shocks after crimbo and doing the induction kit and removing soundproofing next week if I get time. at some point I've got to get round to doing the engine mounts and stiffen up the strut bar but think I'll wait till the weather's warmer.

Yer, will be sorting the handling in the near future, not impressed with it at the Mo, Shocks & Springs in the New Year.

Our cars do indeed have the 16t and iirc a 2.5 or 3" (i think it's 3") downpipe. The Garrett K24 turbo from an S60/V70R will also fit.

I believe Externalerror was saying polybush the wishbones (polishing them will only make them shiny lol) which is a very cheap and effective mod. Coupled with polybushing the engine mounts and strut brace bushes, the final stage is shocks and springs. Then you won't believe the difference.

the S60R exhaust will fit too.

    Enjoy

    Hi Dean,

I joined the forum in September. Got myself a V70 T5 2005. Lots of people who know infinitely more than me about Volvo's!!!
I reckon you made the right decision to cut and run from your first car. These things can become a money pit if you are not careful.

Have a listen to MRP's youtube clip of his induction noise. Makes me giggle every time I watch it and I will be doing it when I find out the best cone to buy.

Hope all goes well with this car..

    Here ya go...

As for which cone - BIG and CHEAP! go for at one with at least an 86mm collar and a twin-cone setup. If it gets dirty, chuck it in the dishwasher
