    rear suspension question ph1!

    I fitted new Meyle rear shocks and when i done the top nut up it went tight but then you can still turn the nut which spins the nut and shock?

    Is it possible you cross threaded it when doing it up and you've damaged the thread?

    No it will undo and do up fine just gets so far then will spin!

    Ah, just had a thought, check there isn't an allan key point on the top. Sometimes you need to turn the centre of the thread part in the opposite direction to the nut by using a star shaped allan key or similar (a bit like you get on drop links).....

    In other words, you use a spanner on the nut to go one way and an allan key on the inner part in the opposite direction at the same time. It then locks it and stops the strut spinning.

    Put money on this being your problem.....

    Have you tried an extra washer in then tighten it up?
