Yep it was and with more u-turns than a uk government this car is now going to be six speed awd with a shifter as the yanks would say, so the winter project on the V70R AWD is now pretty much finalised and just waiting on the box and it will then be all systems go and remap early in the new year, will be interesting to see what it's 1/4 time is, compared to Stribo's S60R even though I'll be handicapped by about 500kgs or so

Thanks James, that's confirmed what I thought, but I was pooping myself that I'd got it wrong and that front drive was going to fight the rear and smash itself to bits. As long as I keep the rear diff and angle gear as matched items then it's all good, I was just have a look around on VS but didn't find that, but I knew Lookinforjoe had done m66 swap but thought he'd only done a fwd, but that could have been an older swap. No excuses now fully speed ahead with the manual swap now....

think I've spent way too long over thinking what is in essence a relatively simple job that I've done before ( albeit on a rover sd1 ) just the awd and final drives were throwing me off, but got it now so onward we go

how to make work for yourself........let the Mrs's she Doormans V70R AWD, now she reckon's her one can easily be better....oh well we'll see, I'm now going to get seriously nagged to get it back on the road now. This is a couple of pics from VT200 of the competition for those that have not seen it before, at least it is only the exterior that I have to worry about......lol

Well went to fire up the old V70R today and to my surprise she wasn't playing ball, battery was dead and the booster battery I'd taken over to her didn't have enough poke in it to get her going. I pinched the battery out of the green bitch and had another go, she reluctantly fired up and ran roughly and promptly died, Jayne suggested could it be low on fuel, I said we'll chuck some in as may not be that low but would freshen up the older fuel that may be a bit stale by now. She fired her up and after some initial stutters she ran smoothly for a short while before starting to die again. Problem now isolated as there was a hissing noise from the rear, the rear fuel pipe have corroded through and the petrol was just getting pumped out onto the ground, so the rear end as well as the front end is all going to have to come out now, probably karma for leaving her parked up of more than 2 years........doh!

Oh mate I feel your pain! Bad times having to drop that. While your there I would replace/uprate the pump & brake lines whilst you are there. Don't get caught out like I did.
Just keep thinking of the finished car, it will be a belter with the m66.

if you go awd you have to love it (warts and all) it's never going to be the best relationship in the world, but they need love too, just unfortunate that both of mine are competing for the available love.....

not really, but it will be in for repairs in the next few weeks, looking like a big winter project now, so should be out on the the road for next season
