    monroes with springs or coilovers?

Right got to change all four shocks with top mounts drop links etc on my ph1 v70 2.0. But am unsure wether to put monroe shocks allround with lesjofors 40mm lowering springs or cheap coilovers like FK or JOM? any ideas?

from what i've read the cheap coil-overs are a bit harsh a ride for most people's tastes on the roads

I guess it depends what you want from the car. Weekly track days and not bothered about ride quality = cheap coil overs. Otherwise I'd suggest the lowered springs and suitable shocks. They will probably give you a good ride and better handling than standard.

Coilovers have minimal travel & with UK roads not always being smooth - I think you'd find that it will spoil the ride quality. The money saved would only have to be re-invested with an osteopath.

I had monroe reflex on my 850R way back. They are lush, though a little pricy. I can recommend eibach prokit springs. If you want to save a bit then Koni FSD shocks provide a more sporty ride which is not unduly harsh & they tend to be a tad cheaper than the monroes.
