    2.4 T5 Engine Code

    Hi,

    Any ideas on what the engine code is for the 260bhp 2.4 T5 unit? (2005-2007 S60's) I can't seem to find anything online or on Wikipedia regarding it.

    Thanks!

    B = benzine (petrol)
    5 = number of cylinders
    24 = 2.4
    4 = valves per cylinder
    T - turbo
    4 no idea

    Thanks DTP, I know how the decoding works I'm just wondering which revision the 260bhp is, and if it has an engine code assigned to it? I need to know for sure when buying an replacement engine. For example they made a 250 and a 260bhp in the same year.

    If the 260bhp is the T4 then I'm assuming the 250bhp is the T3? And the rest are LPT's?

    Hi Ploppy,

    Can you confirm if you're one is the 260bhp unit?

    Thanks!

    it is......

    im sure the facelift 2.4 T5's were all 260bhp...

    my car, 2002 2.3 T5 is the 245bhp version...

    the last letter in the code relates to the type of turbo i believe..... the plastic panel that covers the side of your cambelt should state your engine code..??

    Hi, thanks for all the replies.

    The only reason I'm after the 260 unit is because it shares a few things with the R engine, and is also equipped with exhaust VVT.

    Basically the best of both worlds
