XC 70 Dump Valve, or other suggestions for Mods

Hi all, Ive got an 08 Plate XC70, D5 AWD, ive taken care of the cosmetics as far as im aware, but now looking to do something to the engine, and performance. We have remapped it to give it 215BHP, with superchip remap. This has reduced some of the Automatic lag experienced. And given her a powerflow exhaust system.

I was thinking of dump valve, to give it the subaru type whoosh, but not sure if i can on the D5 diesel Auto.

Can I? and what would you recommend for a nice, eye turning sound.

And what else can I do, or look into ?

I know ive not bought the standard uprateable type car, but I like a challange, lol

no dump valve mate, if you wanted a performance car, although nice as it is, maybe something different would have been better? you have already mapped it so probably sort the handling and the brakes out which will help you drive faster on the road

you've done about all that is doable to the D5, unless you want to go down the bigger intercooler, hi flow air filter , custom maps and down pipe route. But you are looking at monster money. the D5 S80 i had only had one of the plug and play tune boxes on it and that went very well. i'd stick to what you've done, see if you can up the braking and enjoy suprised looks that im sure you can already get with it. but hey thats just my opinion.

Yeah but then as I said , im not too keen on doing the run of the mill, standard custom jobs to cars that are easily customisable. Already done a bit to the Volvo, was just asking others for any ideas of what could be done to it.

I take it the dump valve wouldnt work due to the ecu and air management systems etc?

Dump valve won't work because a diesel doesn't have a throttle butterfly. it has nothing to do with the ecu (although I'm sure if you did try and fit one the ecu would spit it's dummy out.

I didn't think superchips were all that. I'm sure you may get even more power out of your derv with a remap from BSR or Polestar. Have a look on their websites.
