As title, I'm guessing the cable's snapped/ come adrift, is this easy to access, and can I get just the cable if it has snapped?

Got an old discovery now.
The thing is mate, the seat's in really good condition, so would prefer to fix it if possible.
Understandibly, I've seen it my self.
you could use the second hand seat for parts.
If you need it, the car will be there for about a week. Just gimme a shout and I'll go get it.
It probably won't be electrically operated but like I said, use it for parts

Thanks Martin, I'll try and take mine out tomorrow, to see what the problem is, and let you know.
I remember Wobbly Dave saying the cable lets - go and needs replacing.
Might be worth contacting him?

You can buy the cables again from volvo. Contact wobbly as he has two c70 seats behind his shed, came out of c70 we bought and broke. Think mechanisms were good

Yes - you need to take the seat out - unravel the seat cover clip at the bottom of the vertical seat portion (near the hinge) & then spend a while freeing up the old cable & replacing it. I have photos on here from when I did it. Alternatively you can arrange to come here & I will help you with it. Release cables are available still I believe from Volvo.

Hi I've just this moment replaced my passenger seat tilt cable. It was easy to do once I removed the seat from the car. I took it into the house and all I did was unscrew the torx screw that is under the side lever you lift to tilt the seat forward, removed the plastic parts which just popped off after some careful levering. Put my hands under the seat back and popped off the long plastic thing which clips the both parts together, to keep the leather on seat back taut. Sat the seat with head rest on the floor, peeled the leather back as far as it would go to let me see the tilt cable in plea e. only one wire was snapped at the metal S shaped part but just removed the whole thing and replaced with new cable I picked up from taggarts Volvo in Glasgow. Parts had to be ordered from Sweden and as I had to get 2 they were under £20 for both. Replaced my seat back into the car and it's now working perfectly. Was a bit dubious at attempting this myself, but it went very well indeed.!!

I really must get round to doing this.
It's an easy fix, has happened to me.
