It's a long way from the front to the rear. Did you make a calculation on the volume to see if the water pump can displace the needed volume of water ? Compare it to the Volvo's original setup (which BTW has a bigger hose) and see, you can eliminate the volume of the radiator - being standard and all.
Very smart of you to isolate the pipe to prevent heat soak and vibration.

Hi glock .......i have a 12v water pump that goes next to the rad to help aid the original pump the pipe is 35mm o/d which is, as you say smaller, but only just so i dont think it will strain it to much........if it does ill make alterations the pipes had to be apart from each other or its pointless even bothering lol, im getting some strong machinable rubber to make rubber mounts for the pipes to hang from

Good to know. Also your pipes are stainless ?
For the winter, don't forget to drain it or it'll crack up. I'll advise you on another point -have a bleeder valve at the highest point at the rad, which will help you to remove any air-lock in the system, unless you are using the Volvo's expansion tank - which begs me to ask, where's the expansion tank located ? Front or back ?

the pipes made are mild steel (once its all made and working ill be going to stainless) the water pump thats going to the rad had a bleed valve and i was going to use the orig expansion tank but at the moment its not fitted anywhere i planned on it being in the back but plans can change, if they need to? im open to any comments if you see something that will effect the final build

i have only done a 2hr test sat idling, but the temperature went to halfway & sat there as it did with the radiator in the front. I've put a bypass switch on the fan so i can cut in it if i think its getting high just incase

Expansion tank should be near the turbo (like orignal) and place at a higher level than the turbo.
When engine is shut off, water should not be drained from the turbo to aid in the heat convection.
