My C70 T5 fuel gauge can't be right, can it?

Filled right upto the brim with V Power this morning, reset the tripometer, and have done exactly 250 miles since. The gauge is saying that I still have over half a tank of fuel left.

It's the first time that I've filled it right up, but I'm concerned that I really have substantially less fuel than I think.

remember half a tank on the gauge in reality is probably only a 1/3rd left

I'm expecting it to drop very quickly tomorrow morning, but the gauge on the C70 is a lot different to that on the p1 V70 T5. On the V70 it drops as soon as you leave the garage, and that would definitely have been in the bottom half after 250 miles.

See how I go on tomorrow.

How are you driving it mate? You being all tippy toe-y with her?! Even driving like Miss Daisy I'd be well, WELL impressed with 500 miles to a tank!

I've taken it fairly steady and I'm amazed by the reading on the gauge. I'll post tomorrow night on how it looks, as I'll be doing another 120-150 tomorrow and that should just about empty the tank.

I tend to get about 350 from mine but changes every month depending on where I venture. I'm currently returning 26.7mpg so I'm not expecting anything as clever this month! It'll be interesting to see what tomorrow brings for you matey

It'll be funny if I run out of fuel, but the gauge still says I've got half a tank! Like I said, I've never filled right up before cos I've hardly used the car since we got it, but with the D5 going, I will be using the C70 more.

I get 350 out of mine if I drive within speed limits. If not it goes down to 24ish which isn't bad considering.

Once I hit half way on the gauge it drops quite quickly.....BUT I DONT CARE LOL

A while ago I drove to east london and then Duxford IWM and back.
I got 32.5mpg there and 21 mpg back.
I had 3/4 of a tank when I arrived at Duxford,
The orange light was on when I got home...
I brimmed my 85L tank before I left.

My mileage is now upto 344 on this tank, and I'm showing smack on 5 gallons left. Think I will fill up in the morning and see how much it takes, and the exact mileage when I fill up. It does look like I've averaged 33-34mpg, and I could have driven even more economically if I'd wanted to.

I've got to say that the manual C70 T5 has surprised me to say the least on the fuel return, but I will get the definite figs. tomorrow.

Filled up to the brim today with £66 of V Power which was 48.21 litres, and I'd done 351 miles. Therefore, my C70 T5 has done just over 33mpg.

What sort of difference can the fact that it's lowered quite a bit make aerodynamically, or it just down to my economical driving techniques?

I would imagine most of it would be down to your driving techniques, it's surprising what a careful right foot will achive.

I'm really happy with the mpg that I've achieved this week with the C70, and unless I need to carry foam in my car, it will be my preferential motor for my business mileage. The V70 T5 is managing around 29mpg, so still not bad.

i drove the same cross country route in the s70 t5 auto and the missus followed in the 850r auto, the 850r managed 28mpg and the s70 t5 managed 34 mpg, so quite a difference
