friend of mine who has just uprated his escort cossie to 550bhp used an ebay turbo seller as looked like genuine turbo he was after, was a cheap copy, luckily the turbo failed just when car was idling, on strip down in the inner bearing should have had a 12 ball race in it like orginal and this had 6 ball in it, it gave out very quickly and before car had even left workshop.

i would steer clear of turbo's from ebay to be honest other than from someone you know and trust.
because it just had to be done

If you want a refurbed as new 16T I recommend getting one from Tryingbe on Turbobricks. I got a 15g and it lasted more than 4 years for £250. Boosted nicely to 15psi every day. He does all the genuine Mitsu' turbos.

I have nearly finished my 19t build now, used my 15g turbo with straight exhaust housing, machined the CHRA to fit a 19t wheel and using a 19 housing, should be on the car this week at some point, got the wheel and housing for £118 machining done cheap too, and a full superback rebuild so hopefully should be good

Don't take this the wrong way but sometimes this sort of reply annoys me in so far as one persons experience with buying a turbo from one company on ebay that goes wrong and suddenly its 'don't buy them from ebay' as though every single company out there selling them through ebay are all suddenly producing knock offs and all the thousands sold each day are all going to combust while flooring the car. We all know of people who have used 'x' company in the street to have their car upgraded and then gone bang. Does that mean we stop using garages. No, of course not.
While doing research and asking folk who have used a particular company is indeed worthwhile, its a tad unfair labelling all of em with the same brush.

PS I have just got up and not had me cuppa, so likely I got out the wrong side of bed. ;-)
