    Smile squeak from steering column

    On my ph1 2.0 estate when turning the steering wheel theres a swueaking rubbing noise? Its doing my head in, anybody know what this is? Many thanks :-)

    Check the bottom of the column, where it goes through the bulkhead. There's a rubber boot with a bearing. the boot should be lipped over the bearing and it should all sit nicely on the steering shaft.
    I had to re-do mine after having the clutch done (they faffed about with the steering rack - dunno why)
    19t, greens, 3" inlet, 3" downpipe with race cat, V70R catback, autotech map...

    I spray some WD40 on mine mine when it starts but it has to be from underneath around the shaft as comes through the gromit.
