I'm about to buy a 89 740 turbo, i would like to know what can be done on a modest budget to uprate the standard 182 bhp ?
Would a bigger down pipe, custom exhaust be useful?
Would a manual boost controller help.

Thanked 1,783 Times in 1,506 PostsIt depends on what year the car is because some of the 740s came with 9mm rods but If you have the right engine the mbc and 3in exhaust .the turbo should be a t3 so they are good for boost of 20psi easy .and you can turn the fuel cut off by a screw on the Ecu .find out what engine management you have too ether lh2.2 or lh2.4
