Valve Compression Tester - Help needed.

Hi

I''m having issues with the valve compression tester I'm using. Everytime I crank the engine over the air flows up the tester tube and bursts out of the release valve. I don't know what's wrong with it as it's brand new and I've tried moving the little metal plate around the release valve around but it seems to make no difference.

I'm going to go and have another fiddle with it, but in the mean time any help is appreciated. I'm probably being a dunce and missing the obvious...

Doesn't sound like you're missing anything, unless there's some kind of catch on the release valve? It sounds FUBARed - mine was straightforward to use.

Found the problem, I hadn't tightened a little screw thing on the release valve.
